How to prevent the camera lens from scratching.?

I own: Kodak Easyshare M341
Problem: clean it with soft tissue paper and Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol 70%
after cleaning for 4-5 times, I look at the lens under the bright light, i saw the verythin layer of purple on the surface of the lens has come off and leave little dot like sand
What i plan to do? Exchange for a new one. This time i will use:
* Microfiber cloth (I got it from a eyeglasses box i bought at 99 cent store, don’t know if it not work.)
* Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol 50% this time
* I plan to buy a soft brush to clean it dry but don’t know what type.
If as i use it for a long time the purple layer go off, does it affect the picture quality much (over 20%)?
Everytime i put the camera on the bed, and the built-in lens’cover touch the lens and when i turn on it make the lens seem so blurry. are there anyways that I can prevent it (buy a lens cap, don’t know if that is available.

Youve ruined the lens with your home brew cleaning fluid. Youve destroyed the coating on the lens. Rubbing alcohol should never be used on a camera lens.

I suggest you do some reading on proper camera maintenance. I hope the store where you bought the camera is smart enough to realize it was destroyed by mishandling. People who ruin products then exchange them needlessly add to product costs for the rest of us.
