Street / candid photography .. some tips on how to "hide" your camera?
Hi, just wondering if any of you have any advice on how to "hide" or lower chamber visible … I use a body of film and a lot of time with a 20-35 f2.8 lens {Black body and lens} and find if you sling over your shoulder {} seems less doubtful sometimes miss shots that could have is if I have the body and lens in hand with the strap wrapped around my wrist. {What I do .. but is the most visible} What to do? any advice appreciated. to "sglmom" .. almost all the best shots in the street / candid taken without consulting the person for authorization. People are frozen and put your face camera when they know they have their photo therefore lack the true emotion of the person in an environment every day … and mixing this style of photography is concerned.
I do a lot of photography the street when I travel, often in places that do not want you kick like North Africa, Cuba and Eastern Europe. And I really do not "hide" the camera both as a distraction or simply use the indifference that only aim to slow walking somewhere, and shoot from the hip in the picture, with gusts of course, you would like a decent depth of field, and have to rely on auto focus or set your lens to infinity. It is only a casual observer that I am simply going to a camera in hand, 99% of people equate take a picture holding a camera to your eye. Often I will be looking up in a building or something I happened to anyone suspects that I am photographing. I was about to use a reverse form of panning, except that I'm turning the camera instead of a moment while I move for space, if that makes sense. I will shoot moderately wide and cut what is not needed. I have learned through trial and error as the approximation of angles and composition of 'feel' to it. Neglected? Of course! Does it work, absolutely! Of course, I shoot digital, so you might not want burn the movie doing this. Sometimes I have my day-pack hanging from one arm to shoot, and let it hang a bit over my glasses I look like a dumb tourist, nobody notices me. If I have to shoot in the countryside, I have also tried to be something that is set or not to go to my computer, causing the bolt to the back of my thumb and always at chest height or lower in order not to arouse interest, while looking at the camera. Again, no one thinks we're going to roll if it is not until close to face. I have also done this intended-to fit the shoe or something, or reading my guide, as my camera is pointed slightly to what I want, or I have seen a picture, provided the composition, and used my timer for 10 seconds with the camera hanging from my neck, hands, nowhere near! Sly, sneaky … Should have been a spy … By the way, your site is excellent. My favorites are the skyscrapers of summary with small aircraft, the elderly woman who spends three-helicopter and the macro of stone with the white lines. The portrait of the man repairing their nets is also a very good catch. Good job.
