Problems with Video editing software or camera?
So far I have been quite angry at the numerous amounts of problems I’ve encountered while my new camcorder and video editing softare Cyberlink Powerdirector. I will list them all:
1. My camcorder is not recognized when I plug it in. I am using a Canon Vixia HG20.
2.My video and audio are off. There will be no audio for the first .5 to 3 seconds of a clip and the audio is does not match with the video when it does turn on. Occasionally the picture will freeze. This only occurs when the video is in the timeline, not the library.
3. The HD quality seems to reduce when I transfer from the library to the timeline.
If you happen to know the solution to any of these problems, please reply.
I’ve never found bundled software particularly useful.
Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere are the Windows/Vista AVCHD/MTS video editing titles of choice.
And we don’t know what your computer configuration is.
The symptoms you report are typical of a computer not quite AVCHD-ready. You should exceed – by a lot – the stated minimum computer requirements for editing AVCHD video. Is is very highly compressed and needs a REALLY fast CPU, 4+ gig RAM and a LOT of available hard disc space (preferably the video files should be on their own dedicated drive and not on the same drive as the start-up system). And no other applications running.
