Would it be a waste of money if I bought a vintage SLR camera?

I love the photos taken from polaroids, disposable cameras and Lomography cameras, so basically looking for vintage images. Therefore, I will be losing money if I bought a SLR camera eBay vintage? Do you produce the same quality, effects such as "vintage" photo? Also because I have a Polaroid camera from my grandmother, a camera is enough?

I think what some of the posters are missing is that it is more rewarding and fun to get the vintage look of the camera, instead of playing in photoshop for one hour. in my area we have several photo labs that will develop the film with great pleasure. However, this can not be the case for you, but if you bought Vintage SLR camera that should not be too much of a problem as places still develop 35 mm film. I own a vintage Olympus OM-1 and MF-2, both are excellent cameras and produce very impressive. I do not think it would be like "vintage" as Lomo Holga, but definitely have fun with it. I still use them and use them as well as my digital in my upcoming wedding session. I have a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye, and I usually make double exposures with that one, it's awesome and even picked up on eBay for $ 20:) For me, a camera is never enough, I've been drooling over Holga. From the sound of what would be the love of a Holga, they have plastic bodies and so light can get tickets to the bullet of your photos (black corners). Not only that, but you can get fun filters for holga, so the image is divided 3 ways, fisheye, and some interesting accessories. Holga is not too expensive or that are 35 mm and 120 format cameras. It might be better to go for the 35 mm one because it would be easier (and cheaper) to get the film processed. Good luck. The cameras are an investment and worth every penny;) Just be sure to read the descriptions of everything on ebay so do not get a lemon.
