Camera Was Invented By

What was invented by about 1885?
What every day things did they have? Or what variation of modern things? Did they have electric in their houses? Trains, cameras, the London underground? Telephones? As much detail as possible is loved. <3<3
Your question requires a lengthy answer but here goes. The camera has a long history because more than one person takes credit for different parts but by 1884 – Eastman invents flexible, paper-based photographic film and the brownie camera was not mass produced until 1900,. The first 35 mm camra wasn’t deveoloped until 1913-14. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/When_was_the_camera_invented

Gottlieb Daimler (who later teamed up with Karl Benz to form the Daimler-Benz Corporation) is credited with building the first motorcycle in 1885, one wheel in the front and one in the back, although it had a smaller spring-loaded outrigger wheel on each side. It was constructed mostly of wood, with the wheels being of the iron-banded wooden-spoked wagon-type, definitely a “bone-crusher” chassis. It was indeed powered by a single-cylinder Otto-cycle engine, and may have had a spray-type carburetor. (Daimler’s assistant, Wilhelm Maybach was working on the invention of the spray carburetor at the time).

Sept. 5, 1885: Pay at the Pump
1885: Sylvanus F. Bowser delivers the first gasoline pump. It improves safety, but can’t guarantee low prices.
The automobile was yet to be invented, and gasoline was a byproduct of refining kerosene for stoves and lamps. Some of that equipment could use gasoline, but it wasn’t much in demand.
You bought fuel in a general, hardware or grocery store. You had to bring your own gallon (or whatever) can, and the storekeeper would ladle the flammable fluid from a barrel. Wasteful. Messy. Dangerous.
To reduce spillage, Bowser built a pump in his Fort Wayne, Indiana, barn. He sold and delivered the first one to Fort Wayne merchant Jake Gumper 123 years ago today.
The self-contained unit included a wooden storage barrel, marble valves, a wooden plunger, a hand lever and an upright faucet lever. It was a success. Bowser formed the S.F. Bowser Company and patented his pump in 1887.
The Bowser pump soon became known as a “filling station,” and Bowser started selling an improved model to the first automobile-repair garages in 1893.

Who invented the automobile? Karl (Carl) Benz. This question does not have a straightforward answer. The history of the automobile is very rich and dates back to the 15th century when Leonardo da Vinci was creating designs and models for transport vehicles.
There are many different types of automobiles – steam, electric, and gasoline – as well as countless styles. Exactly who invented the automobile is a matter of opinion. If we had to give credit to one inventor, it would probably be Karl Benz from Germany. Many suggest that he created the first true automobile in 1885/1886.
Below is a table of some automobile firsts, compiled from information in Leonard Bruno’s book Science and Technology Firsts (Detroit, c1997) and About.com’s History of the Automobile.

Thomas Edison was an American inventor, scientist and businessman who developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. Dubbed “The Wizard of Menlo Park” (now Edison, New Jersey) by a newspaper reporter, he was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production and large teamwork to the process of invention, and therefore is often credited with the creation of the first industrial research laboratory.
Edison is considered one of the most prolific inventors in history, holding 1,093 U.S. patents in his name, as well as many patents in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. He is credited with numerous inventions that contributed to mass communication and, in particular, telecommunications. His advanced work in these fields was an outgrowth of his early career as a telegraph operator. Edison originated the concept and implementation of electric-power generation and distribution to homes, businesses, and factories – a crucial development in the modern industrialized world. His first power station was on Manhattan Island, New York. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Edison
This really isn’t a genealogy question but I worked really hard to get you some information on this time period and I could go on but there is just too much to put in one post…one could write a book about the inventions that were in use during that time period.
