What’s a great laptop 15″ for less for $999 or less?

I’m moving out to Florida and I wanted to pick up a new laptop just in case my old laptop can’t be revived (it couldn’t find a hard drive). I bought that laptop to replace my desktop, so if anyone can suggest a good all around laptop (that can play games, movies, dvd, mp3, built in mic and camera, wireless, core duo, etc), that’d be great!

Too many to name. I like the Toshiba brand myself, have heard good things about Sony and Acer. Main thing though is to go in and uninstall pretty much all of the “free” and trial software that comes on every new computer.
